One more thing you have to do before planting the seeds is putting in organic fertilizer. You can use recycled leaves, grass clippings, coffee grounds, eggshells and kitchen waste which should be applied a month before planting begins.

Then it is time to plant the seeds. Each seed must be spaced by a certain distance the roots do not fight for water. In between each of the vegetables, you can plant other things as well because the tighter the space, the lesser the chances that weeds will grow.

Pests are the biggest threat to your organic garden. To fight them, you can use birds, frogs or other insects. You don't have these creatures to fend off other insects. You simply have to create the ideal environment by putting a bird house or a small pond. Once they are in place, they will do the rest by patrolling your garden and eating those who seek to eat your crops.

Putting up a few barriers can also help. Row covers are known to prevent moths from landing and laying eggs. You can also use sticky traps and foil collars to stop pests and borers.

There are also organic pesticides around but some of them can only kill one or two kinds of pests. So before you buy them, make sure you know what you are dealing with.

Crop rotation is the best way to preserve the fertility of the soil. This is done after you harvest the vegetables so it is ready for planting once again. For this to work, you have to plant in the same area a different vegetable.

Anyone can learn organic vegetable gardening basics and soon have their own little farm in their backyard. It is fresh and you can pick this anytime you want which is very convenient as these are only a few feet from your home.

Should everyone get into organic vegetable gardening? Perhaps because there is a food shortage right now and most of the vegetables imported do not use this technique. The government for its part has given incentives to farmers here to shift to this method but its going to take more effort to persuade countries that do business with the US to do the same thing.

For thousands and thousands of years we have turned to plants we label vegetable for spice, dye, fragrance and cosmetics. We have believed that specific vegetable had properties to repel insects, evil and vampires, while others hooked the flawless sweetheart, good luck or bees to pollinate our crops. For some, the use of  vegetables can heal headaches and burns. And, of course, what would terrific dining be without the culinary online pharmacies vegetable?

Collected here are some tips for home vegetable garden that will reproduce the conditions of an exterior garden. For home vegetable gardening in your home the growing climate needs to be very much the same as the conditions in your outside garden.

Some gardeners swear that you must deposit garden stones in the bottom of the gardening receptacle, but I question that notion. I feel that the garden stones take valued space away from the vegetable roots. It is better to lay a small portion of wire screening over the hole in the pot to maintain it from getting clogged.

Here are some examples of which vegetable to plant together:

* For a garden with an Italian flavor plant Sweet basil, Italian parsley, Oregano, Marjoram and Thyme.

* For a winning scented pot use Lavender, Rose scented geranium, Lemon balm, Lemon thyme, and Pineapple sage.

* For utterly wonderful salads try Garlic chives, Rocket, Salad burnet, Parsley, Celery.

* And if you are delighted by French Cooking use Tarragon, Chervil, Parsley, Chives and Sage

Provide time for your herbs to grow used to their unfamiliar conditions. Once you see growth you can start using or drying your herbs. Snip and use your herbs repeatedly to inspire them to grow big and bushy.

When it comes to light, all herbs need to get at least 4 to 6 hours of sunlight a day on your window sill. If your window doesn’t provide that much sun then get garden grow lights and place them three inches above the herbs. If you live in a extremely hot climate shade the herbs during the hottest periods. If you live in a very cold area keep the herbs away from the cold window panes.

Rule of thumb for watering is not to let the vegetables dry out but don’t drench them either. Vegetable do not like to sit in saturated soil. An inexpensive water meter from your garden center nursery will assist with this essential step in growing your vegetables. Always use water that is at room temperature so you do not wallop the vegetable roots with water that is too cold.

If you understand all of these steps and you implement them you will have a flourishing herb garden all winter on your bright windowsill.
